The government of Ontario released a “Guide to reopening Ontario’s schools” and as the market leader in the distribution sector of disinfectants, we can not stress enough on how important the “Cleaning standards and protocols” section is. Weather you’re a parent, a teacher, a student, or a frontline worker who is associated with this decision, we want to make sure that you have the information needed for a smooth and safe experience.
The good news is that the government of Ontario has requested school boards to build on a program for cleaning and disinfecting schools. This program would include re-visiting current practices and including new ones. According to the “Guide to reopening Ontario’s schools”, enhancements in existing practices includes time and frequency of disinfecting, areas to disinfect, choice of disinfecting products, child safety and PPE for cleaning staff.
The 21 page “Guide to reopening Ontario’s schools” document also includes specific guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting. For example, high touch surfaces are supposed to be disinfected at least 2 times daily. Depending on the frequency and use of extent, school boards are required to adjust their cleaning intervals. High touch surfaces include but are not limited to:
- eating areas
- sports equipment
As a market leader in the disinfecting industry, we truly believe in the power of keeping high touch surfaces disinfected at all times, choosing the correct disinfecting products, and promoting a safer environment for everyone in our communities.
