Disinfectant Foggers

Disinfectant Foggers & Sprayers provide a quick and easy way to cover large and hard to reach areas with a non-toxic disinfectant. Fogging only requires a 15 minute settle time, and requires one of Roxton Industry’s Disinfectant Solutions, which are natural disinfectants that are perfectly safe for humans, plants, animals, and a variety of surfaces.

You have probably seen images of people, usually wearing Personal Protection Equipment with some kind of a hand held or backpack unit that is dispersing a mist directly onto high touch surfaces in medical offices, restaurants, office settings, classrooms and homes. This process is called fogging which is simply the process of taking a disinfectant in liquid form and converting it into minute droplets to kill germs, viruses, and bacteria on surfaces and in hard to reach areas.

There are different types of foggers including manual foggers, automatic foggers, backpack foggers, and electrostatic foggers that charge the ions so that the droplets adhere to the surfaces that they touch. Roxton focuses on the electrostatic charges as they give the best results and germ killing action.

To fog the disinfectant would be put into a reservoir on the unit and then pumped through the machine to turn it into very small droplets which is referred to as atomizing the disinfectant. The droplets can be so small they will appear as a fine mist or fog. This allows penetration into the smallest of crevices and cracks which cannot be disinfected manually.

Electronic equipment like computers, printers, keyboards, stereo equipment, automobile dashboards etc. would benefit from a dry fogging treatment. Dry fogging is achieved by the use of a thermal fogger which heats the liquid before it releases it into the air, This mist is a very dry mist and does not leave droplets on the surfaces and equipment touched. Roxton offers a Nano Atomizer which is a thermal fogger. It is imperative when you use a thermal fogger that you do not use an alcohol or any flammable based liquids in the fogger as it can create a risk of fire as this substance is heated.

There are many types of disinfectant on the market which can create confusion in what to use. Roxton has focused on what we believe to be the best on the market and all are Health Canada approved.

When you are finished with your fogger it is recommended that you drain out any disinfectant and put clean water into the reservoir and let the machine operate for 5 minutes. This procedure will clean out all the tiny orifices and keep them from becoming clogged.

While the surfaces are left food grade safe after the fogging has been completed and the fog is not harmful, Roxton always recommends the use of personal protective equipment while performing this task.
